1. The applicant will need to get a utilities connection permit for the water connection.

Re: MCWD Application—Hennepin County Orono Maintenance Facility Expansion
WSB Project No. 01680-130
This memo provides a summary of the requirements for utility improvements and the
construction of an expansion of the existing Hennepin County Maintenance FaciliTy at 3880
Shoreline Drive in the City of Orono, MN. Based on review of MCWD rules,this project is
subject to the erosion control and stormwater management requirements. The construction is
expected to begin in April 2015 and be completed in November 2015.
Description:
Utility improvements will consist of a new water service installation from Shoreline Drive to the
building,under the existing driveway. An expansion to the facility will be constructed on the
north end of the existing building. The project will disturb an area of 03 acres and will not
increase the amount of impervious surface on the site.
Erosion Control:
The plan shows the implementation of the following erosion and sediment control practices.

Stormwater Management:
The site size is larger than 5 acres, with less than 40% site disturbance and no change in
impervious surface. This triggers the stormwater management rule and requires that BMPs are
incorporated into the project.

Wetland Protection
NWI and FAW maps indicate two areas of wetlands located on the southern border of the parcel.
No wetlands are within the project area. There will be no increase in impervious surface on the
site,making this project exempt from buffer requirements as stated in section 5(a). In addition,
there will be no direct wetland impacts,making this project exempt from the wetland protection
rule.
