Settles <br /> Excelsior, MN 55331 <br /> APPLICATION FOR DISTRICT PERMIT <br /> STORAGE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY MAINTENANCE FACILITY <br /> 3880 SHORELINE DRIVE <br /> NAVARRE, Minnesota 55391 <br /> RE: Permit Application#00-243 <br /> Dear Mr. Evenson: <br /> On July 20, 2000, the Hennepin County Transportation Department initially submitted <br /> application to Minnehaha Creek Watershed District(MCWD) for permitting under rules B, D, <br /> and N. The City of Orono passed Resolution#4485 approving the County's proposal on June <br /> 26, 2000. A copy of the signed resolution was transmitted to the District on November 17, <br /> 2000. The District reviewed the permit application and requested additional information. The <br /> information was complied and submitted to the District on August 10, 2000. The permit <br /> application was approved by MCWD staff with recommendation for approval with two <br /> conditions: 1) a maintenance agreement for the sump catch basins and expanded wetland must <br /> be executed and recorded, 2) a declaration for preservation of the wetland buffers must be <br /> executed and recorded. <br /> The MCWD Board of Managers met on August 24, 2000, with the Board tabling the <br /> application. The Board requested that MCWD staff work with the County on minimizing the <br /> impacts to wetlands and their associated buffers. <br /> The MCWD and County staff inet on December 13, 2000, for historic aerial photo review to <br /> determine if the wet area in question is a wetland or an excavated stormwater pond.
