Re: 3790 Shoreline Place - Filling
Dear Mr. Larson:
It has come to the attention of this department that fill has been placed on your property at 3790
Shoreline Drive.
This letter is to inform you of permit requirements for filling in the City of Orono. City staff
can issue permits for fill up to 100 cubic yards. Fill in excess of 100 cubic yards requires a
conditional use permit and must go before the City Council for approval. The filling you have
done appears to be in excess of 100 cubic yards. TherFfore the City must require you to remove
the fill or apply for a conditional use permit before March 1, 1993. If this deadline is not met,
the City will issue citations and refer the matter to die City Attorney for further legal action.
If you have any questions or if you have a problem meeting this deadline, please feel free to
contact me at my office.
Sincerely,
( `vVr°"'

Re: Fill at 3790 Shoreline Dr.
Dear Mr. Oman,
I am in receipt of your letter dated Feb. 16, regarding the
fill on my property. This fill is in temporary storage and it
is my intent to remove the majority of the fill this spring
when conditions permit. I am in the process of building a house
for a customer at a near by location. Upon excavation we quickly
ran out of storage and I was forced to remove the amount of
dirt now located on Shoreline Dr. You may have noticed that
most of the dirt is frost chunks. I am anticipating that I
will need until the end of April to deal with this frozen dirt.
I have done a calculation on the amount of fill brought to
Shoreline and I have determined that it is well under 100 yards.
I didn't think storage would be a problem at that site because
my neighbors to the East, and Hennepin County to the west, both
are using their property for storage of earth material . It
is my understanding that all this property is in the same LR-1C-1
zone.
Please call if you have any questions. O. 476-0400 R. 471 -9122
I will be available to meet with you at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Paul Larson
