The existing roof system consists of a steel deck, one layer of 2-inch wood fiber insulation, one layer of built-up roofing material, and aggre�ate surfacing. During our examination of the roof surface we observed exposad felts, open seams,numerouS$t�empted repairs,and deteriorat�d bas�flashing material. Mairy areas of leakage or potantial leakage were observed. Based on ow observations, we agree with ihe church's d�cision to re-roof this sectian of the building. lt is no longer economically feasible to continue to make n�pairs to the existing roof system. We recommend its complete replacemeM. Th�following is our proposaT for the replacement of this roof system. Please find attacbed a second proposal,which is an option to compl�e the same projeet using a differerrt material. SQeci$cs�tions and ScoQe of Work Tear Off I. We will tea�offthe existing BUR Roof system� insulation and sheet metal flashings. 2. All dcbris will be cleaned up and hauled away. Iasal ' 1. lnstail, one layer of 2.7-inch isocyanurate insulation, and one layer of'�S inch wood fiber recovery boazd over the top. This provides for an R-Value of 22.2 t6at cornplies with the Stat�of Minnesota Ener�y Code. 2. Install Firestone RPM strip to secure the field membran�at thc parapet roof edges. 2. lnstall one layer of 60 mil reinforced Firestone"Max"EPDM(Rubbe�r)roof inembrane,fully adhered, over the top of th�new insulation. Note: Firestone"Max"is a reinforced puncture resistarn roof mambrane. 3. Fully adhere EPDM(Rubber)membrane up and over the roof edge and fasten at the perimeter at a ratn of twelve inches on cerner. 4. Place concrete splash blocks(8)on ihe new roof surface beneath the scuppers that drain nr►to the now roof from above. Metal Tnatallation 1. New custom�abricated 24 gauge pre�finished metal coping, including cover plates, will be made and installed at the perimet�r. 2. New custorn fabricated 24-gauge pre-finished metal reglet, and courrter flashing will be installed at tha wall deia.ils. 3. We will install an additional piece of 2"x 10"or 2"x i 2"wood blacking at the p�rrimeter roof edges to raise the height of the parapet.
