Dear Melissa:
P lease be advised that the City bases it's determinations on a
property's involvement within a flood plain on mapping done in
1978 by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Please review the enclosed section of that map that includes the
subject property.
If you wish the City to confirm the exact involvement of this
lakeshore property with the f lood plain, it will be necessary for
you to submit a topographic map. Obviously, the lakeshore of the
property is invo lved at some point with the f lood plain elevation
for Lake Minnetonka at 931.5.
If it is your interest to confirm that the existing residence is
located above the 931.5 elevation, it will be necessary to
determine just the elevations of the existing residence.
Please contact my office if I can be of any further assistance on
this matter. Upon receipt of the additional topographic
information, the City will be able to provide the type of
confirmation you are seeking.
