Proposed Landscape Repairs
A) Retaining wall replacement-replacing an existing wall on the east side of the north parking area. Height ranges
from zero up to 3.5'. It is within all setbacks.
B) Timber steps to the North dock -New. No grading as the steps will run with the grade.
C) Buckthorn Removal—Plant one#5 Df Bush Honeysuckle where ever a Buckthorn tree is removed.
Seed any disturbance to the under growth. Seed to be a fescue grass seed mix. We will install erosion logs at
the base of the hill.
D) Other Misc. Landscape repairs
E) Patio repairs included by the contractor
F) Expansion of the main patio per proposal the original foot print with 15'expansion to the south.

Chris,
I've reviewed the plan for the subject property and offer the following comments:
1. The plan depict removal of patio(K),a couple pads on the south west corner of the home,creation of a patio
south of the house ad stepping stones(V). If those are the only items on this permit,then no issues. However
the proposal attached from Natural Landscape Minnesota, Inc describes changes to a retaining wall and new
timber steps to a dock. Nither of these changes are reflected or called out on the plans.

Hello,
We have reviewed the proposed landscape repairs summary dated 5-10-2015,the landscape plan dated 5-11-2015 and
the survey dated 6-24-2015 and have the following comments:
1. Item A on the sheet labeled proposed landscape repairs states your intent to replace a retaining wall on the east
�side of the north parking area. Please have the survey reflect this and note the proposed top and bottom of wall
elevations.
2. The survev depicts removal of patio (K). The landscape plan depicts the removal of this patio and also notes
grading out 20'to install sod to be used as a temporary parking area. Please have the survey reflect the grading
changes taking place. Please note, any lawn used for parking(even temporary) is considered hardcover and
must be included in the hardcover calculations.
3. Item B of the proposed landscane repairs summary proposes a timber stair to the lake. The landscape plan
depicts it as Item C. The proposed stairs are not shown on the survey. Please have the proposed stairs shown
�on the survey and included in the hardcover calculations. Submit two (2)full-size sets of constru.ction plans for
the proposed stairs.
4. Item C of the proposed landscape repairs summary and Item D of the landscape plan states buckthorn to be
✓removed. Please show the exact area of the removal and submit a detailed planting plan specifying location,
size and type of plants. Erosion control measures must be shown on the survey.
5 The landscaqe plan notes a gravel path to be removed. A gravel path is currently not shown on the
� survey. Please have this added with a notation it will be removed
6. The survey shows a couple pads on the south west corner of the home,creation of a patio south of the house
and stepping stones(V). The survev depicts the steps and stepping stones as proposed and the landscape plan
depicts them as existing. Please clarify.
7. "Grade and resod" is shown is several locations on the landscape plan. Please have these areas shown on the
survey noting any proposed grading. �
8. The survev depicts on the south and southeast side of the house a walk(C) and patio (B) are shown. Are they
existing? The landscape plan shows plantings in the same area. Please clarify.
9. Erosion control measures must be shown on the site plan.
Your projects may trigger the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District's(MCWD) permitting requirements; please contact the
MCWD directly at 952-471-0590 regarding your project. Please note,the City of Orono will not issue a permit without a copy
of MCWD permits or documentation from the MCWD stating the proposed project does not trigger any of their permitting
requirements.
Attached is an updated escrow agreement, combining the building addition with the zoning permit. No additional
escrow money is needed at this time, please sign the attached updated escrow agreement and return at your earliest
convenience.
Please revise your proposal,survey or both and provide updated information for us to review. The above information is
