No. 180179 Dear Building Department, The intent of this letter is to comment on the design of the remodel of the Dayton residence. The scope of this project consists of remodeling of exterior and interior walls, potentially bearing walls, which have unknown support spans prior to demolition of the interior finishes. I will be available to address any structurally engineering needs for modification of existing bearing walls, and/or addition of new beams or columns. These elements of the home will be structurally designed to resist the superimposed loads caused by wind, rain, snow, and live load as defined by Minnesota State Building Code. I will also be available during the construction of this work should my services be needed to assist the construction team. The structural work and review which we will perform will be limited to the structural framing directly associated with the structure of the residence. No other areas of the home were investigated or reviewed for code compliance or structural integrity. Waterproofing, materials and finishes and all other non-structural items are by others and are not within the scope of VAA, LLC. If there are any further questions give me a call at 763-577-9133.
