p CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> -AS NO. 6 9 1 3 <br /> G <br /> `-ikEs Ho‘� <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY,MINNESOTA <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION FOR A HENNEPIN COUNTY YOUTH <br /> SPORTS PROGRAM GRANT <br /> WHEREAS,the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners,via the Hennepin Youth Sports Program, <br /> provides for capital funds to assist local government units of Hennepin County for the development of <br /> sports or recreational facilities, and <br /> WHEREAS, City of Orono desires to develop a sports field and other park improvements in Bederwood <br /> Park for the purposes of providing additional recreational facilities for youth sports within Orono. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Orono City Council: <br /> I. The estimate of the total cost of developing the park facility shall be$423,100.The Orono <br /> City Council is requesting$ 211,550 from the Hennepin Youth Sports Program and will assume <br /> responsibility for providing matching funds of$211,550. <br /> II. City of Orono is the owner of Bederwood Park where the sports field will be located and shall <br /> continue to own the property for at least the functional life of the sports field,which is estimated to be 20 <br /> years. Bederwood Park may not be converted to a non-public or non-recreational uses within this time <br /> period without the approval of Hennepin County. <br /> III. City of Orono agrees to assume one hundred(100) percent of operational and maintenance <br /> costs for the field. City of Orono will operate the sports field for its intended purpose as stated in the grant <br /> application for the functional life of the facility. <br /> IV. City of Orono agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with Hennepin County <br /> for the specific purpose of developing project and managing its long-term operation. <br /> V. That the Director of Public Works for the City of Orono is authorized and directed to execute <br /> the application for the Hennepin Youth Sports Program grant. <br /> Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota,at a regular meeting held October 22, <br /> 2018. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> 11 <br /> nna Carlson, City Clerk Dennis Walsh,Mayor <br />
