o�'O�'o�� SIGNS IN B-1 ,B-2 &B-4 <br /> '� ��: i�- �'� www.ci.orono.mn.us <br /> ��° <br /> ��� 952-249-4620 <br /> TYPE <br /> Oniy wall and monument signs are permitted. <br /> SIZE <br /> Aggregate square footage of sign space per lot shall not exceed the sum of one square foot <br /> for each front foot of building, plus one square foot for each front foot of lot not occupied by a <br /> building. No individual sign shall exceed 50 square feet. <br /> NUMBER <br /> One monument sign, limited to two faces is allowed per frontage per property, with a <br /> maximum of finro. <br /> LOCATION <br /> No sign may be located closer than ten feet from any property line; except that any sign over <br /> ten square feet may project two feet into any required yard area from the principal <br /> building. No wall sign shall extend in height more than two feet above the highest outside wall <br /> or parapet of any principal building. <br /> MONUMENT DESIGN STANDARDS <br /> The areas of sign base, the supporting background structure, and the sign copy shall be <br /> combined for determining the total square footage and the height of the monument sign. <br /> a. The total allowable square footage shall not exceed 50 square feet per side. The base <br /> and supporting material shall constitute at least 25 percent of the total square footage. <br /> b. The base width dimension is 50 percent or more of the greatest width of the sign. <br /> c. The sign copy area shall have a minimum clearance of 20 inches above ground level. <br /> d. The sign copy area shall be completely enclosed within the monument materials. <br /> e. No portion of the sign or sign structure shall exceed ten feet above ground level. <br /> f. The monument sign base shall be constructed of materials similar in appearance to <br /> those of the principal structure and shall consist of brick, natural stone, stucco, <br /> textured cast stone, or integrally colored concrete masonry units. The structure <br /> surrounding the face of the sign from the base to the top of the sign must be solid, <br /> continuous, and consist of the base materials or complementary materials that match <br /> the appearance and color of the principal building. <br /> g.
