The dimensions were to be: Length 10' Width 5'2.75" SQ ft 52.29 Top of sign to grade 18'6" Distance from bottom of sign to grade 13'3.25" The base is now 30 inches wide. Your sign must meet those dimensions and occupy no area not currently occupied by a sign or supporting structure. The sign you propose requires a variance,staff cannot issue a permit. The next deadline for application is August 23�d. The current pole Wrap width I'm told is 32"and so is the new one,the only difference is that our pole Wrap is 32"at the bottom and tappers to 2'6'at the top. This entire new proposed sign is smaller, lower and much more appealing,all they did before was a temporary fix by removing the number 1 and putting a new face on,did you notice what the bottom of the existing pole wrap look like, it is of the ground a foot. Attached are the sign measurements provided when the sign was refaced in May of 2016. The width of the 1 sign you are showing as existing doesn't seem to match the measurements provided with the previous permit. Can you provide clarification? Also,you have provided proposed sign pole width changes. Can you also provide measurements of the current sign pole width? Please note that changes to the pylon pole width will require a variance because pylon signs are not permitted within Orono,so in-kind changes can be made with a permit, but expansions need variances.
