Dear Mr. &Mrs. Schmidt:
The city has received a complaint about a fence constnicted near your property at 2385
Shadywood Road in Orono. It appears the fence you constructed is not your property. A
survey of your property the city has on file shows it to be a couple feet off your property
line.
Therefore the city must require you to show the fence is on your property or remove the
fence. A deadline of March 15, 2005 has been established. If you have any questions or

RE: Boat For Sale at: 2385 Shadywood Road

It has coine to my attention that a boat on a trailer is being displayed for sale in the front yard at the
above address. 2385 Shadywood Road is located within the B-1 Zoning District. The sale of boats
or motor vehicles is not a pennitted use within the B-1 Zoning District. The storage of boats is only
permitted within the R and B-2 Districts. Therefore the boat must be removed from the above
mentioned property.
On Monday, I spoke with a man named Chris at the phone number provided on the For Sale sign
(612-616-9387) and informed him of the City of Orono's regulations regarding boat sales. I told
Chris at t�at time to remove the boat immediately in order to avoid legal action.
Please remove the boat displayed For Sale from the property irrunediately. I will inspect the property
on or about Monday,August 16`h if at that time the boat remains on the property this matter will be
forwaxded to our City Attorney for legal action. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.

Dear Sir or Madam;
We have .had several incidences of vehicles blocking the public access road
to the Municipai Parking Lot between Jimmy's and �the Amoco station
in the last several months.
There are many occasions when people come out of the car wash and continue
to dry or clean their cars blocking the. road. Other times, campers, cars
with boats and trailers, and trucks have blocked the road.
We have gone over to the station and asked the owners to �ve the vehicles,
but it continues to happen. �s it possible to have a sign posted in this
road stating; No Blocking Public Road" or someth.ing to that effect?
We haye also had complaints from our agents and clients who have difficulty
using this Municipal parkin� lot road. .
Please let us know your feelings about this, and vrhat can be done to correct
the situation. �

I arrived at the scene of the complaint and observed a tow truck belonging to the Amstar service station
partially blocking one of the three entrances to the parking lot of 2385 Shadywood. I called the RP for more
i�iformation and she s�ated this is an ongoing problem with Gary at Amstar. She stated he becomes verball5�
abusive when approached regarding the matter. She informed me that on the previous day, he had parked a
large pontoon boat on a trailer blocking two of the lot entrai�ces as well as a fire hydrant (see picture taken
by RP).
I spoke with Gary regarding the matter and informed him that tl�e area in which lle has been parking has
�aeer, marked b�the city as a no parking zone on the ground in yel]ow paint. I also advised that any further
vioiations could result in citations. I-�e was cooperative and agreed not to park there. Clear.
