The police completed their background investigation and found no issues. Attached is a new license, adding the above therapist. According to City Code Section 26-36, this license must be dispiayed in a public location within the salon. Referenced code sections are enclosed for your information. As noted on the license, only the following massage therapists are covered under the Eclectic Spalon massage therapy license: • Jen Berg • Thomas Everson • Kristen Anderson • Ann Marie Murphy Any individual who provides massage therapy services must be covered under the current license. Please be aware, performing massage therapy services without a license is a violation of City Code Section 31-11. If you wish to add new massage therapists to your license prior to the annual renewal date, the individual must complete an Appiication for Massage Therapy License, Part III and return it to the City of Orono. There is no charge to add massage therapists to the current license. Carrying or posting. All solicitors shall, at all times when so engaged, carry their license on their person. All other licensees shall post their licenses in their place of business near the licensed activity. However, in the case of machine or other device licensing, the city may provide a sticker for the current license year which shall be affixed to each machine or device requiring such sticker. All licensees shall display their licenses upon demand by any officer or citizen. (Code 1984, § 5.05) Sec. 31-11. General rule; number of licenses. No person shall engage in the business of operating a massage therapy center business either exclusively or in connection with any other business without being licensed as provided in this section. Each individual massage therapy center must have a license notwithstanding the fact a license has been granted to another establishment owned by the same individual or entity. (Ord. It is unlawful for any person to knowingly permit any real property owned or controlled by him to be used, without a license, for any business for which a license is required by this article. The initial massage therapy license was granted on June 27, 2011 and they paid a fee of$100 for the license in addition to the required $150 background check fee. Per City Code Section 31-13(b) annual license fees should be prorated for partial year licenses.
