Amir
The City Code has two separate classifications of restaurants:
Restaurants (class IJ means a restaurant in which food is served to the customer and consumed by him while seated at a
counter or table, and the restaurant does not serve intoxicating liquor or provide live entertainment. Food is selected by
a customer while going through a serving line and taken to a table for consumption.
Restaurants(c/ass 11) means fast food convenience, drive-in and liquor service restaurants; a restaurant where a majority
of customers order and are served their food at a counter in packages prepared to leave the premises, or to be taken to
a table, counter, automobile or off the premises to be consumed; or a drive-in where most customers consume their
food in an automobile regardless of how it is served; or restaurants which serve intoxicating liquor or have live
entertainment.
In order to sell any alcoholic beverages you would need a conditional use permit for a Class II Restaurant. You should set
up a meeting with city staff to discuss the process for this type of application. I think there are a number of issues to
work through on a CUP—parking requirements, noise, outdoor tables, live music, hours, etc. The Code requires parking
provisions as follows: 78-1516(16) Restaurants, cafes, bars, taverns, nightclubs, at least one for each 80 square feet of
public floor area.
If you are interested in making an application please let me know.

Hi Melanie
Lin told me that my restaurant considered class i restaurant by the city, would you please explain to me the different
between class I & II
Also because I am going to apply for win & beer license she said I have to change classification by submitting a
conditional use permit, would you please email it to me?
Also, I am interested in placing some tables and chairs in the front yard once the weather gets better, is there any
requirements regarding that ?
Thanks
