This letter is regarding the boat that is docked at your property. Orono does not allow
dockage of boats that are not registered to the property address. After checking the
registration of the boat on your property it was found that the boat is registered to
someone from Minneapolis. Please remove the boat that is not registered to your address
by July 19, 2004.

City Code Section 78-1577(4)(a) requires that all boats stored on residential property
must be owned by the property owner or a person residing at the property. During a
property inspection on Tuesday, August 9`h City staff noted a boat stored at the dock of
the above property. The boat, an 18' Runabout displaying registration MN7013FR, is
registered to an owner not residing on the premises.
'I'he above listed boat, and any other watercraft not registered to the address, must
be removed fa-om the property by August 31, 2005 in order to avoid legal action by
the City. City Code Section 78-1577(4)(a) is attached for your reference. If you have

(4) [Storage of boats and boat trailers.J Boats,unoccupied boat trailers, and boats on
trailers shall be subject to the following storage requirements when not
stored for commercial purposes:
a. Licensing, operability and restorations. All boats stored outside on
a residential property shall be licensed to the owner or occupant of
the property. All boats stored on a property shall be in operable
condition, except that inoperable boats under active restoration
may be stored on a property for not more than two years,the intent
being to discourage the long-term storage of inoperable boats on
residential property.
