Th3s is an application for a permit to construct a seasonal
(temporary) dock which we have been advised to obtain.
As an explanation:
Exhibit A (copy of registered land survey) shows in yellow
shaded area's the property we hold title to. The two points
marked in "red" are where our property comes down to the
lagoon where we would like to construct a dock. These two
points have been established by the survey firm of Coffin &
Gronberg Inc. and have there survey stakes in place for
inspection.
Exhibit B Is my drawing of proposed dock. The points marked
as A & B correspond to the points marked in "red" on
exhibit A.
I do not know what the fee is for a permit, but if you will
please just let us know what it is we will submit the
correct amount. You may contact us at the numbers listed

We have been advised by an adjacent property owner that you have
installed a dock that does not appear to be totally located on
your property. You should be advised that a building permit is
required when you initially install your seasonal dock. This is
the opportunity for the City to assure that all standards for
insta l lation of docks a long a channe 1 are met and that the dock
is placed within the boundaries of your property.
The City asks that you submit an application for a building
permit and to provide a survey/sketch of the boundaries of the
property and the location of the dock. Since there is a question
as to an encrv�chment into an acljacent prvperty, we would ask
that you stake your portion of the lakeshore so that an
inspection can confirm the location of the dock. You should also
�� auvised that since you are dealing with a dock alor�g a channel
that you must obtain a permit from the LMCD.

Dear Jeanne:
This is in response to you're letter of July 2, 1991 as
concerns location of our boat dock.
Hancy and I have decided that we will remove the dock.
Before we constructed the dock we measured off where we
thought the property came to the lake and thought we were
within the confines of what we owned. We had purchased this
property to use for our dock.
What has happened now, is that we aannot spend any more
money for additional surveys, permits, legal council etc. We
are in our senior years and are close to retirement. Our
financial goals do not include any additional expenses. To
put it very simply, we do not have the money for legal fees
to justify what is legally ours. When a situation becomes
this frustrating it is time to �ust back away. So, we will
�ust have to capitulate to the greed of others and live with
our disappointment.
We want you to understand that we have no quarrel with you
personally or the city of Orono. I appears to us that you
are only doing what the law requires. Please be
understanding and give us some time to remove the mentioned
dock. We don't have any one right now to help us, and at the
age of sixty two Hancy and I can only do what we have the
energy to accomplish at any given time.
If you should have any questions and/or recommendations,
please feel free to contact us.
