The sepric system is non-compliant due to a lack of a three foot sepazation distance between the bottom of the drainfield to the seasonally high watertable. The three foot requirement is a State Code,not a City Code. A soil boring was conducted to determine the depth of the seasonally watertable. The septic system must be replaced by December 31,2010. Enclosed is a list of state licensed septic contractors who work in Orono on a regulaz basis. Also enclosed is a fact sheet eYplaining how a septic system functions properly. The separation is 1 foot and the system is non-compliant. Repair or replacement of the septic system is required by 12/31/2005.
