I spoke with Tom Kellogg (our engineer) this morning and the as-built survey (dated 12-6-10) looks pretly good, however
we do need the top and bottom elevations of all of the walls to be indicated and also the drain tile system shouid be
shown on the as-built as well as the inlet and outlet structures.
Regarding your plans for the lake yard slope, Kellogg is not convinced that the installation of the stone stairs will not
result in some level of grading into the slope. The landings and maybe even the stairs appear to need some retention,
My concern is extra hardcover... For that reason, we need a cross-section plan for the stairs, the survey to be updated
to reflect the grade changes for the stairs to be set into the slope. Further we would need top and bottom of wall
elevations for your proposed work at the lake in order to determine the extent of the grading and necessity of the
retaining wall hardcover.
Replacement of the existing retaining wall at the lake should not be a problem.
I've attached the zoning permit application. Your project(s) will likely require a $2,500 escrow in addition to the permit
cost. The property owner will need to sign the attached escrow agreement and provide the escrow. The permit cost is
$50 for each element (grading, retaining wall, and stairs) it will total between $50 and $150 depending on what you
ultimately do.

I apologize for not getting back to you. I spoke at length with Ryan, the homeowner, and he assured me that he would
pass on the information that he and I had spoken.
An as-built survey does need to be an official certificate of survey by a surveyor. All of the existing improvements on
the property should be shown. Top and bottom elevations of walls; locations and elevations of drain tile inlets and
outlets; walls; sidewalks; driveway; BodPave improved surfaces; etc.
