On February 28, 1994 the City sent a letter to you requiring the following submittals: l. A certificate of survey showing the proposed improvements. 2. Hardcover calculations. 3. Building plans. Last week you dropped off the building plans for the screen porch and deck. A cursory review reveals several problems. The first problem is hardcover. When changing a deck to a structure, the City requires that hardcover reguladons are met. When the permit was issued in 1989, there was also a hardcover problem. The permit was approved based on removals of excess hardcover, specifically a lazge portion of gravel driveway was to be removed. Since that time, the driveway was not removed and in fact was covered with asphalt. The required hardcover calculation submittal will show what your actual hardcover level is. The second problem is the location of the screen porch. City code requires additions to meet an average lakeshore setback. Records from your previous application indicate the proposed porch does not meet the average lakeshore setback. The third problem is the building plans submitted do not show the construction of the attached shed or the second story deck. Telephone (612) 473-7357 • FAX 473-0510 - Mr. Keith Hankinson October 3, 1994 Page 2 In summation the City must require you to submit building plans for the shed addition that was done without a building permit. The proposed additional work would be required to meet hardcover, average lakeshore setback and all other setbacks before a building pernut could be issued. Please contact me to discuss how you wish to proceed. Sincerely, C- ° . Lyle Oman Building Offfcial LO/ch cc: Jeanne A. Mabusth, Building & Zoning Administrator Bruce L. Vang, Field Inspector
