Co., MN This on-site sewage treatment system is designed for a Type 1, 5 bedroom home 8 2 bedroom Guest Home = 1050 gal/day, in accordance with the Minnesota Poflution Contro) Agency Chapter 7080 and local ordinances. The soils on this site are a clay loam. The seasonatly saturated soils were located at 22" to 34" (redox features). Due to the seasonally saturated soits, a Pressurized Mound System will need to be instaAed to treat septic effluent. The bottom of the rock must be located at least 3' above the saturated soils. City code requires a 20' setback from the edge of the system for equipment travel. The soils at a depth of 12" have a percolation rate of 6.3mpi. The tanks needed for the house will be 2-1250 gallon capacity and 2-1000 gallon capacity for the guest house. Both the house and guest house witl have a 1500 gallon pumping chamber. There will be a timer in the guest house pumping chamber (pump#2). The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhote and pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A waming device must be installed with a light and sound device, this is in case of a pump failure. The supply line from pumping chamber#1 to pumping chamber #2 will be a force main with back drainage from pump #2 to the mound system. ,. r ::-j N . 7 ` y. . f 'R!YI1 'A , j hA ' ,:, 1 ; , "' ., I T e manifold and supply line pipe must have back drainage to the pumping chamber. T e distribuion pipes shall have their ends capped. Be sure the rock and sand fill aterial are clean. The sod layei below the entire mounded area must be tumed over, j st break up the sod, be sure not to over work. I neighboring wells are located greater than 100' away from the proposed treatment ea. ; Ieep all hevy equipment off of the proposed treatment area before and after nstruction. The treatment area shouid be marked oif before construction. This esign is npt valid & the system witl need to be relocated if failure to protect the areas roposed fqr On-Site Sewage Treatment occurs. ith proper installation and maintenance, this system should have no problem in reating septic effluent effectively. othing other than human waste, toilet tissue, taundry, showers, water softener etc. hould be disposed of into the septic tanks. {ron filters must be diverted out of the ystem. Garbage disposals are not recommended, due to adding more solids &fine olids passing through to the system. Excessive amounts of soaps, anti-bacteriat oaps, clening agents, chforine agents & shower cfeaners used every shower may kitf he bacteria needed to treat septic effiuent. Additives are not recommended. Recommemd to pump & clean your tanks through the manhole by a certified pumper every 2 years. Check with your pumper to set up a schedule. C 1 • i < j Steven B.
