Without a delineation it is impossible to know where the buffer is. Bonestroo, the City's consulting engineer, indicates that they could locate and stake the wetland boundary for $400. It would not be a delineation and a report that you could submit to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. It would only be a wetland boundary that could be utilized for buffers and setbacks to the wetland. It will be conservative meaning that if there is a question the stake will be placed on the high side. The wetland boundary must be placed on a survey and a legal description provided. Bonestroo could provide GPS coordinates for an additional $300. These coordinates could be sent to the surveyor to place on the survey. You could hire a delineator to make a full delineation and/or have the surveyor do the field survey. The choice is yours. If you have any questions please call me at 952- 249-4623.
