Buckthorn needs to be <br /> removed in the entire buffer area which extends 16.5 feet above the wetland that is marked by pink flags tied in trees. <br /> Buckthorn outside the buffer zone can remain for screening if desired by property owner. The current and remaining <br /> areas where buckthorn is removed need to be seeded with native vegetation. Prairie Moon or Shooting Star can provide <br /> a seed mix appropriate for partial shade. If additional screening is desired native trees and shrubs can be planted inside <br /> the buffer and native or ornamental trees and shrubs can be planted outside the buffer.
