Per the 12/8/2009 memo this site required buckthorn removal within the buffer. Due to the densiry of the buckthorn within the buffer native seeding was also required. The large buckthorn has been cut and removed. A number of re sprouts have developed and they should be sprayed with herbicide. In addition the area needs to be seeded with a native seed mix. The landowner can contact Prairie Restoration (www.prairieresto.com) or Prairie Moon Nursery (www.prairiemoon.com) for options for seed mixes. Prairie restoration also provides buckthorn removal and seeding services if desired by the landowner.
