D�TR�cological Resources requested that you be informed that there are a number of <br /> options avaiIable to you to s�abilize your shoreline other than riprap tha�would serve the same function as <br /> riprap but provide a mare natura! appearance to your shoreline. It may be possibte to use riprap to stabilize <br /> the toe of the slope and use native plantings to retain a more natural look. Additionally, we encourage the <br /> use of native vegetation 1�ecause of the ecologieal hPr.efits te�arildl�fe and water qual�?;. I ha�e also <br /> attached a brochure on lakescaping and I encourage you to incorporate lakescaping into your shoreline <br /> stabilization efforts. <br /> The City of Orono commentctl that your project may require a conditional use permit from the City.
