.
SYSTEM DESIGN
FOR MELVIN PETERSON
LOT 2, BLOCK 1 , STIELOWS ADDITION
ORONO, MINNESOTA
6-17-85
1 . Percolation Rate, Type of System. .
26.3 minutes per inch on the primary site(holes 1-4) and 70.0 minutes per
inch on the alternate site(holes 5-6). Shallow Trench system on the prim-
ary site if an interceptor draintile is used (otherwise a mound system).
Nbund system on the alternate site.
2. Proposed Flow Rate.
4 bedrooms @ 150 G.P.D. = 600 G.P.D.
3. Soil Treatment Area Required.
Use 2.0 factor x 600 G.P.D. = 1200 Sq. Ft. minimum.
4. Size and Number of Trenches.
4 trenches 3 feet wide and 100 feet long = 1200 Sq. Ft. These trenches .
would be spaced a minimum of 7.5 feet apart center to center and be
about 1 foot deep in the natural soil . The interceptor draintile would
be 10 feet upslope from the upper trench and be at least 3 feet deeper
than the bottom of the lowest drainfield trench.
5. Drainfield 13ck Needed.
44.4 cu, yds. of rock is needed to have 6 inches under and 2 inches over
a 4 inch distribution pipe.
6. Septic Tanks.
Two septic tanks each of 1000 gallons are recommended. It appears that
the house elevation could be high enough so that gravity flow could be
maintained and a third pumping tank and pump would not be necessary.
7. Additional Info rmation:
The primary site had quite a bit of black loam that has washed down the
slope over the years which would enable the shallow trenches to be used
if the water table is lowered by the draintile. The alternate site had
little topsoil and a slower percolation rate which would require a mound
system anyway.
Sincerely,
PERCOR, INC.
Ma
Gronberg, P. .
PCA certified
