Founded in 1907, <br /> WHCPA HCPA was formed from the earlier "Territorial Pioneers of Hennepin County. The first meeting <br /> place was the Stevens House in Minneapolis. Later, the Association held the annual meetings at the <br /> Bederwood Temple on the east shore of Stubbs Bay, Lake Minnetonka. WHCPA's constitution, adopted <br /> August 12, 1908, states our mission in part, "is to preserve a record in the lives of the Territorial Pioneers <br /> of the County and as far as maybe practicable assure the preservation and care of such places, articles, <br /> portraits, paintings, manuscripts, publications, etc. as may be of historic value." <br /> Upgrades at Museum Property <br /> e <br /> d <br /> iii. itt' r s <br /> i .''''''' <br /> F$ <br /> igx <br /> New WHCPA Museum accessible entrance and parking lot. <br /> Not since the WHCPA acquired the old (constructed in 1917 with an addition in 1937) decommissioned <br /> Long Lake Elementary School building in 1968 have we seen so much change to our campus. If you've <br /> driven by or, better yet, stopped in, you know what I'm talking about. Herewith, a bit of an update to fill <br /> you in on what's been going on. <br />
