NO POLICE DEPARTMENT
CASE FILE 90090 BADGE 503
OFFENSE Warran DATE 2/26/90
PRINCIPLE (S) Ga ry Richard Everson DATE TYPE 2/27/90
TYPED BY slc
On 2/26/90 at 205 ,pm, I went to the Garry Richard
Everson, ( - - , residence located at 4775 North Shore
Dr. in Orono. We had been previously advised of an
outstanding warr, it for Mr. Everson for building without a
building permit. The warrant had been issued through
Division 3 with a warrant number of 89412680. There was a
$74.00 bail deman•ed to satisfy the warrant.
I knocked on the •oor and met with Mrs. Everson and
explained to her by I was there and she stated that her
husband Garry was out of town and she inquired if the
warrant was a war ant for a permit violation and I explained
that it was. In -peaking with her, it was determined that
the citation had • -en issued with the wrong spelling of the
last name (Iverso' , Gary) . The correct name was Garry
Richard Everson. ,he stated that her husband had been up to
Ridgedale on 5 or 6 different occasions in an attempt to
satisfy the citati.n, however, each time Ridgedale court
indicated that the, had no record of him. Mrs. Everson
stated that the or. ginal citation probably had not been
reduced at Ridgedale court at this time. The citation would
have had a number •n it, which would have enabled the courts
to obtain the diff-rent spelling of the last name and the
first name . In s . -aking with her, she stated that they had
discussed this on ive or six different occasions, that they
would prefer to pa- the fine moneys as opposed to appearing
to court.
I accepted $74.00 n fine moneys from her written on his
account. I explained to her that if he did not wish to do
this, he should i...ediately contact our office.
I left her a busin- ss card and explained to her that if he
wished to contest he citation, he ought to immediately
contact me. She s- id that he would be calling her this
evening. I explai' ed to her that I would be in until 2300
hours. However, s e was adamant that it was their desire to
simply pay the fin= to satisfy the warrant. She also stated
that it was a reli=f to have this taken care of as she was
quite concerned abut the warrant being issued for his
arrest and the pos -ibly of him being incarcerated at the
adult detention ce ter.
Lt.
