Apni23 2QQ4'�'` Janice Gundlach � ` r City Planner City of Orono PO Box 66 Crystal Bay, MN 55323-0066 Dear Ms Gundlach, This letter is in response to your letter dated April 20`h'2004 that I received on April 22"d, 2004 referring to the dock that was erected on my property at 1530 Orchard Beach Place that I purchased this past February and our telephone conversation about this on April 23rd, 2004. As we discussed,I was told by both the realtor, who sells many properties on Lake Minnetonka, and by the dock company who sells and maintains the most docks 011.14; Minnetonka that the erection of this dock was perfectly fine.I was completely unaware of ordinance Sec. 78-1432 and was told by what I thought to be reliable aid a cpc - people(the realtor and the dock company)that there would be no prohleA§' .. dock in at this time. As you know,because you mentioned in our phone conversation today that you have been contacted by my architect, I have been planning to build a home on the property as soon as I can and have been working with an architect since July of 2003 for such a home. I closed on the lot this February after securing a purchase agreement in the fall of 2003. I have every intention of building on the property as soon as I can but homes of this size and complexity take time-more time than I thought. You have suggested to remedy this situation that I build a fence to secure the dock from use,remove the first few sections of the dock, or get a building permit into the city within a month and one half. I mentioned to you that I am traveling to Europe on business all of next week and only have today to deal with this situation that I just found out about yesterday. As we discussed,please let this letter signify to you that I will remedy this situation to the city's satisfaction as soon as I can. I have no interest in getting into legal and or other entanglements with the City of Qrono• I am a citizen who bought a lot,plans to build a horn; and waves loolci gfmtg4, , ,1 enjoying the property that I purchased. Please understand that my v4 other responsibilities in life did not anticipate this problem and thus Tam sendinyop,the letter indicating my interest in resolving this matter as quickly as I humanely can within the short time I have been notified of this situation.
