S-P TESTING, INC. Steven B. Schirmers — MPCA Cert. No. 627
951 Katydid Lane NE • St. Michael, MN 55376 • (612) 497-3566
May 23 , 1995
Bruce Dayton
900 Old Long Lake Road
Orono, Henn. Co. , MN
This On-Site Sewage Treatment System is Designed for a Type 1, five
bedroom home Designed in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency Chapter 7080 and local ordinances .
This site has an existing non-conforming system with the bottom being
located less than 3 ' from the seasonally high water table, (mottled
soil) & is hydraulically overloaded. The existing tanks located
northwest of the home will need to be abandoned, pumped & filled
with soil & new tanks installed. The tank & system may be used
upon approval by the local Inspector, located east of the house
used for guest rooms. The system was not found & I recommend
to connect to the new system.
The soils on this site are a clay loam. A seasonally high water
table was located at. 32" & 34" , (mottled soil) . Due to the
seasonally high water table, a Pressurized Mound System will need
to be installed to treat septic effluent.
The soils at a depth of 12" have a percolation rate averaging
11.2 min/inch.
A pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the effluent
to the treatment area.
The manifold and supply line pipe must have back drainage to the
pumping chamber. The distribution pipes shall have their ends
capped. Be sure the rock and sand fill material are clean. The
sod layer below the entire mounded area must be turned over, just
break up the sod, be sure not to over work.
The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole
and pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device
must be installed with a light and sound device, this is in case of
a pump failure.
All neighboring wells are located greater than 100 ' away from
the proposed treatment area.
CONT' D
