Christine Mattson
From: Christine Mattson
Sent: Friday, March 23, 2018 1:05 PM
To: 'knutsl_122@msn.com'
Cc: 'Mark'; Laura Oakden
Subject: 795 Ferndale Road N/#2017-01682
Attachments: Site Plan Requirements -January 2018.pdf
Scott,
Our engineer has reviewed the survey submitted and has the following comments:
1. The plan does not conform to city survey standards. Reference#10 of the attached Site Plan Requirements.
Topographic contours at 2'contours on the entire lot(Lakeshore, 1')and 50'outside of lot lines. Identify all steep
slopes over 12%. The source for all topography must be indicated on the survey.
2. The hardcover calculations sheet refers to a retaining wall however the retaining wall does not appear on the grading
plan.
3. The plan should be updated to show how surface water runoff will be directed. It may not directed toward neighboring
properties. Any existing or proposed drain tile or other stormwater system should be shown on the grading plan. As
currently shown on the grading plan, it appears that the majority of the surface runoff will be directed to a swale and
then down a steep hill to the neighboring property to the northwest.
Please have the surveyor address the above concerns and submit updated copies for our review. Don't hesitate to contact us if you
have any questions.
Christine Mattson
Planning Assistant
City of Orono
2750 Kelley Parkway I Orono I MN 155356(physical address)
PO Box 66 I Crystal Bay I MN 155323-0066 (mailing address)
it 952.249.4620 I A 952.249.4616
® cmattson( ci.orono.mn.us I " www.ci.orono.mn.us
Office Hours: Monday- Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm
1
