S Orono,MN 55356 Dear Mr. Funk: I am writing as a follow-up t the conversation you had with Bruce Vang on January 30, 2006. I did some further research as to the"west" septic system on your property. You were first notified of the need to update the septic system on June 5, 1992 and a design ap royal was given from this office on November 13, 1992. The design approval at that time required both sewer lines to be hooked into the new system. I do not know why the west s stem was not hooked into the new system at the time of installation in Augustf 1994. This would appear to be a over sight made by one of my predecessors. ou have since been notified of the need to abandon the other system since the nesystem install. In 1999 you were notified by a different predecessor of mine at the west system needed to be updated by 2007. In 2001 you were told by yet nother predecessor of mine that the system must be updated by 12-31-2010, and en two years later you were told to update by 12- 31-05. I am not sure what transpired between 2001 and 2003 that caused the deadline to be brought up five years. I find nothing in the file to indicate the time discrepancy. In my limited dealings with you and from what Bruce says, you seem to be a stand-up guy. I hope we can finally resolve this matter this summer so that I may close the file on'this constant miss-communicated mess. Please contact me with any questions you may have concerning this matter.
