C SYSTEM INSTALLATIONS - CONSTRUCTION i INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS <br /> I <br /> A. All installations a all comply with the approved septic system design (the <br /> report you work rom should contain the Cit signed and dated <br /> approval cover sheet, which will note any required changes). <br /> B. All inspections must e called-in at least 24 hours in advance to ensure timely <br /> inspections (473-7357) Please have permit number and address available. THE <br /> FOLLOWING INSPECTIONS ARE REQUIRED: <br /> 1. Pre-installation site inspection (any time prior to installation; purpose <br /> is to verify pro sed system location/layout/soil moisture). <br /> 2. Tank inspection ( rior to covering) . <br /> 3. Standard trench rainfield inspection (at least 75% complete but prior to <br /> covering) . <br /> I <br /> 4. Mould - Inspectio s (2 required) : <br /> a. After ground is roughed-up, but prior to sand placement (sand will be <br /> jar tested f r silt content). <br /> b. When rock an piping are in place, but prior to covering. <br /> 5. Final inspection !i <br /> a. When final grading is complete. <br /> b. Pump station function final inspection. <br /> C. Special requirements for pump station inspection: <br /> Pump stations have b come an increasing problem due to a wide range of <br /> installation and electrical connection methods, and due to varying perceptions of who <br /> is responsible for vario s portions of the installation (including building <br /> inspectors, electrical in pectors, system installers, electricians, and general <br /> contractors). The following procedure and policy is immediately placed in effect: <br /> 1. The septic installer shall be responsible for ensuring that all electrical <br /> connections conform exactly to the diagram shown on the back of this sheet <br /> (NO EXCEPTIONS). <br /> 2. Septic installer s all call City for final pump station inspection when the <br /> pump', floats, ele trical connections, and alarm system are complete and <br /> working. The al rm system will be tested, reserve capacity will be <br /> checked, as will he pump on-off levels to ensure proper gallonage per <br /> cycle. <br /> 3. Installer shall provide pump make and model number and a copy of the Pump <br /> Characteristic Curve to the inspector for filing in permanent City records. <br /> 4. Certificates of Oci,upancy for new residences will not be issued until the <br /> above is completed <br /> I <br /> Any questions?
