M. Non-Shrink Grout: Pre-packaged,non-metallic,non-gaseous,non-corrosive,non- <br /> staining,complying with Corps of Engineers,CRD-C 621 and ASTM C1107. Use quick <br /> setting type for sleeves. <br /> 2.2 FABRICATION <br /> A. Fabricate structural steel in accordance with reviewed shop drawings,AISC <br /> Specifications and Code of Standard Practice. <br /> B. Punch and drill structural steel as indicated on drawings for securing other work. <br /> C. Weld shop connections in accordance with AWS Structural Welding Code or bolt using <br /> A325 high strength bolts installed in accordance with reference standards,unless <br /> otherwise shown or noted. <br /> D. Clip angles,headed shear connector studs or other components shown welded to top <br /> flanges of beams,except for end connections, shall be shipped loose for attachment in <br /> field. <br /> E. Provide cambers in members where shown or noted on drawings. <br /> F. Build up welded door frames attached to structural steel framing. Weld exposed joints <br /> continuously and grind smooth. Plug weld steel bar stops to frames,except where shown <br /> removable. Secure removable stops to frames with countersunk,cross-recessed head <br /> machine screws,uniformly spaced not more than 10 inches o.c.,unless otherwise shown. <br /> G. Where lintel and soffit plates are indicated with edge flush with masonry,horizontal leg <br /> shall(1) stop 1/4 inch short of masonry at jambs,or(2)be notched at end extending into <br /> masonry to permit mortar joints across face. At beam and plate lintels, spanning from <br /> jamb to jamb of opening,stop plate short of masonry also. Where bearing of horizontal <br /> leg is required at opening jamb,notch lintel end to permit full 3/4 inch of mortar cover <br /> along face. <br /> H. Preparation, Steel for Paint: Brush-Off Blast Cleaning(SSPC-SP 7), Power Tool <br /> Cleaning(SSPC-SP3)or Hand Tool Cleaning(SSPC-SP-2). <br /> I. Do not paint steelwork concealed by interior building finish,spray-on fireproofing or <br /> concrete encasement. Steelwork that will not be shop painted shall,after fabrication,be <br /> cleaned of oil or grease by solvent cleaners and be cleaned of dirt and other foreign <br /> material by thorough sweeping with fiber brush. <br /> J.
