I have designed a alternative
system, with the only other option being a holding tank. In the mound area I
found the seasonal high water table to be 9"-13" below the surface. For this
reason I have increased the rock bed area from 374 sq. feet to 450 sq. feet.
I have also increased the sand under the rock bed to a depth of 2' 3". 1 also
suggest roughing the soil extra deep to loosen the fill.
Notes
1. Avoid compaction of mound area before, during and after construction.
Design = J Bedrooms 2. Verify before drilling any well, that there are no septic tanks or septic
areas within a 50 foot radius of a proposed well. (100 feet for shallow well)
Rock Quantity = 23.3 tons 3. Verify before construction that no shallow wells are within 100 feet, or
Sand Quantity = 190 yds. any deep wells within 50 feet of proposed septic area.
Loamy Sand Quantity = 12 yds. 4. The local regulating authority may change the size and/or the location
of this system to meet with local codes.
6" Top Sod Quantity = 60 yds. 5. All materials used for construction must meet or exceed M.P.C.A.
requirments.
Scale: 1"= 30 feet 6. Divert surface drainage away from septic system.
7. Insulate all pipe with less than 3.5' cover.
LEGEND 8.
