THIRD SERIES <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />HENNEPIN COUNTY, MEIVESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE <br />BY ADDING ARTICLE IV TO CHAPTER 26 AND AMENDING SECTION 26-31 <br />REGARDING SHORT-TERM RENTAL LICENSING <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 26-31 Definitions of the City of Orono Municipal Code is <br />hereby amended by adding the following text: <br />Rent shall mean for the pg=se of this definition leasing, subleasW& leffim or burin for <br />occupancy. <br />Short-term rental shall mean jh@ rental to a pmwn or gmmR of Rtrsons a residential unit for a <br />period of less than 30 consecutive calendar days in a zoning district where residential <br />uses are allowed. <br />Short-term rental ffpMjV m ans a parcel of real mp= and includes the premises unon which <br />a short-term rental unit is located and the parking areas, ddyeways, landscaping, accessor3! <br />structures fences watts ools hot tubs and gW. <br />SECTION 2. Ardlele IV. — Short Term Rentals of the City of Orono Municipal <br />Code is hereby added by adding the following text: <br />Section 26-80 — Short term rental licenses <br />(a) Purpose. The use of residential propertyfor short term rental has thepotential for <br />increased estionon_-the streets, noise, and disrespectful activity to the <br />detriment of the neighborhood. The City of Orono has determined that responsive <br />ownership of the rental RrpWAy mitigates these issues. <br />(b) R aired.
