The scope of <br /> the inspection was limited to evaluating the condition of the grout. To do so, KA removed the faceshell of a concrete <br /> masonry unit, right next to one of the expansion bolts. The bolt was checked and found to be freely rotating when <br /> turned by hand. <br /> The condition of the masonry grout was solid and intact. The grout resisted being scraped by a steel blade and was <br /> not found to be soft nor friable. Overall, the grout appeared similar to grout used in normal construction practice.
