Tested Single-Pulse Surge Current Capacity: Submit to the Engineer along with the shop drawings for compliance. <br /> Provide test data indicated that the tested single-pulse surge current capacity, in amperes, based on the current <br /> waveform of ANSI/IEEE C62.41-1991 for category B3 Medium Exposure Waveform(6KV, 3KA, 8x20 micro-sec <br /> waveform), is not less than the following: <br /> Mode of Protection: Tested Single-Pulse Surge Current(AMPS): <br /> Distribution Panelboards Branch Circuit Panelboards <br /> L-N(Each Phase) 80,000 50,000 <br /> L-G(Each Phase) 80,000 50,000 <br /> N-G 80,000 50,000 <br /> E. UL 1449 (ANSI C62.41-1991 Cat. B3) Performance Ratings: Provide published performance rating literature, <br /> based on UL 1449 listed clamping voltage suppression ratings, for the entire system as follows: <br /> Nominal System Voltage: Mode of Protection(Volts): <br /> Distribution Panelboards Branch Circuit Panelboards <br /> 120/208 L-N: 500 LN: 400 to 600 <br /> L-G: 500 L-G: 400 to 600 <br /> N-G: 500* N-G: 400 to 600 <br /> F. Provide suppression elements between all phases of phase-to-phase (on delta systems) and for 3 phase, 4-wire plus <br /> ground (on grounded wye) configurations between each phase conductor and the system neutral, between each <br /> phase conductor and the system ground and between the neutral and the system ground. UL clamping levels shall <br /> be the same for all modes noted herein. <br /> G. Provide visible indication of proper suppressor,connection and operation. <br /> H. Provide the suppressor to exhibit Sine Wave Tracking circuitry that has field replaceable circuitry without <br /> disturbing the conduit,enclosure,or cover. <br /> I. Provide a TVSS clamping response time of 1 nanosecond or less. Provide high frequency noise filtering for UL <br /> 1283. <br /> J. Provide suppressors consisting of solid-state components that operate bi-directionally. <br /> K. Provide the surge suppression panel with a surface or recessed cover, and mounting as indicated. <br /> L. Provide the surge suppressor with its own disconnect switch or C.B. (unless indicated in the schedules for dedicated <br /> 3P circuit breakers) that meets the proper A.I.C. of the panelboard; tap bus of panelboard. If fuses are used for <br /> over-current protection, use fuses that allow the maximum rated transient surge current to pass through the <br /> suppressor a minimum of 1,000 times without fuse operation. Indicate if the system required an external O.C. <br /> device to maintain the systems UL 1449 Listing. <br /> M. Provide the suppressor with a warranty guarantee for a period of 10 years from the date of final acceptance based on <br /> the Architect's final certificate of completion, for all materials (except if determined to be caused by abuse), at no <br /> charge to the Owner. <br /> 164784 No. 01088 <br />
