H. Backflow Preventers: Reduced-pressure-principle assembly consisting of shutoff valves on inlet and outlet and , <br /> strainer on inlet. Assemblies shall include test cocks and pressure-differential relief valve located between 2 <br /> positive seating check valves and comply with requirements of ASSE Standard 1013. <br /> I. Pressure-Regulating Valves: Single-seated, direct-operated type, having bronze body with integral strainer and ' <br /> complying with requirements of ASSE Standard 1003. Select proper size for maximum flow rate and inlet and <br /> outlet pressures indicated. <br /> J. Relief Valves: Sizes for relief valves shall be in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes for ' <br /> indicated capacity of the appliance for which installed. <br /> 1. Combined Pressure-Temperature Relief Valves: Bronze body, test lever, thermostat, complying with ANSI ' <br /> Z21.22 listing requirements for temperature discharge capacity. Temperature relief valves shall be factory set <br /> at 210 deg F,and pressure relief at 150 psi. <br /> 2.08 WATER METER ' <br /> A. General: Provide water meters with registration in gallons. , <br /> 1. Remote Registration System: Utility company standards. <br /> B. Water Meter-2 Inches And Smaller: Disc type conforming to AW WA C700. , <br /> C. Water Meter-3 Inches And Larger: Compound type,conforming to AWWA C702. <br /> 2.09 EXTRA MATERIALS <br /> A. Maintenance Stock: Furnish one valve key for each key-operated wall hydrant,hose bibb,fixture supply,or faucet , <br /> installed. <br /> PART 3: EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 EXAMINATION <br /> A. Examine rough-in requirements for plumbing fixtures and other equipment with water connections to verify actual , <br /> locations of piping connections prior to installation. <br /> 3.02 PIPE APPLICATIONS ' <br /> A. Install Type L,drawn copper tube with wrought copper fittings and solder joints for pipe sizes 4 inches and smaller, <br /> above ground, within building. Solder joints for pipe sizes 2 inches and smaller, brazed joints for pipe sizes 2%2 <br /> inches and larger. Install Type&annealed temper copper tube for pipe sizes 2 inches and smaller,with minimum <br /> number of joints,below ground. <br /> B. Install galvanized steel pipe with threaded joints and fittings for 5 inches and larger,above ground,within building. <br /> C. Install cement-lined ductile-iron pipe with grooved ends or flanged ends, above ground, within the building (to <br /> meter). , <br /> D.
