Summer Office Hours: (Monday, May 19 through Friday,August 29, 2014)
Monday - Thursday: 7:30 am to 5 pm
Friday: 7:30 am to 11:30 am
OUR OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED: Friday, July 4, 2014
From: David Martini [mailto:davidma@bolton-menk.com]
Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2014 4:22 PM
To: Christine Mattson
Cc: Melanie Curtis
Subject: 3590 Northern Avenue
Christine,
As requested, I have reviewed the as-built survey for 3590 Northern Avenue. Based on my review, it appears
that there are several restoration items that need to be addressed before the City accepts this project as
complete. My comments are as follows:
1. It appears that the lot has been graded in substantial compliance with approved grading plan.
2. The original plan show one rock retaining wall to be constructed along the west side of the house. The as-
built condition has two retaining walls constructed out of lumber that appear to be failing. I don't think having
two walls is an issue but the walls need to be reconstructed so that they retain the soils behind them as originally
intended. A different design and materials may be needed to ensure that the walls function as intended.
3. There is a lot of erosion on site that needs to be corrected. It appears that minor grading is needed in areas
along the house and turf needs to be established.
4. Erosion control measures need to remain in place and maintained until turf is established in all areas on the
lot.
2
