MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,April 17, 2017 <br /> 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> Thiesse commented he would like to have further discussion on the buffers and get some more <br /> background information on why the buffers are the way they are. <br /> Landgraver asked if the Council could vote on the buffers if the Planning Commission tables that portion <br /> of it. <br /> Barnhart stated the Council can change any portion of the ordinance they want regardless if there is a <br /> recommendation from the Planning Commission or not. Barnhart stated the only way the Planning <br /> Commission could discuss it further is if they table it. <br /> Thiesse recommended the Planning Commission choose Option 1 with the recommendation that the <br /> Planning Commission be given the ability to make some modifications to allow for some flexibility on <br /> the buffer and setback. <br /> Landgraver and Lemke stated they do not want to make any changes at this point to the buffer or setback. <br /> Landgraver moved,Lemke seconded,Application No. 17-3922,City of Orono,Text Amendment: <br /> Wetlands Protections, to recommend the City Council approve the desk delineation process <br /> outlined in Staffs memo and to recommend Option 1 as it relates to the buffers. VOTE: Ayes 6, <br /> Nays 0. <br /> (Recess taken from 11:38 p.m. to 11:40 p.m.) <br /> 12. #17-3925 CITY OF ORONO, TEXT AMENDMENT: SMALL LOTS/SETBACKS, 11:40 <br /> p.m.— 12:12 P.M. <br /> Barnhart stated the issue of setbacks for small lots within the City has been on the ordinance review list <br /> for several years. Last fall the Planning Commission identified this as the fifth highest priority. <br /> Barnhart stated included in the Commissioners' packets are three maps.
