A heat recovery ventilator(HR� or energy <br /> recovery ventilatar(ERV)shall meet either: <br /> 1. the rec�uirements of NVl Standard 420,72 hours minus l3 degrees Fahrenheit cold weather <br /> test; or <br /> 2. cenified by a registered professional engineer and installeti per manufacturer's instaflation <br /> inswctions. <br /> An HRV or ERV intended to comply with both ihe continuous and total ventilation rate requiren�ents shall <br /> meet the rated design tapacity ot the continuous ventilation rate in Section N 1104.2.1 under low capacity <br /> and meet the total ventilation rate in Seciion Nl 104.2.2 under high capacity. <br /> Exception: The balanced, and HRV/ERV system may inciude eachaust fans to meet the intermittent <br /> ventilation rate. Any mechanical ventilation system consisting of exhaust fans, <br /> supply fans, or a combination of both� complying with Section N]104, shal� be allowed. A <br /> mechanica]veniilation system specifically identified in Section NI 1Q4.3.1 orN]I04.3.2 shall not <br /> confiict with Sections Idl]04.3.1 and N1104.3.2.
