MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,October 16,2017 <br /> 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> Staff finds the requested variances to be reasonable and recommends approval contingent on submittal of <br /> an updated grading plan to ensure water will not be directed onto neighboring properties. <br /> The Planning Commission had no questions for Staff. <br /> Scott Koppandraye, LDK Builders, stated their biggest concern was the curvature of the road in the front. <br /> The proposed house will sit further back. <br /> Thiesse asked if they plan to install stairs down to the lake. <br /> Koppandraye indicated there are none currently, and that if that should change at some point,they will <br /> reduce the driveway hardcover. <br /> Thiesse asked whether that should be addressed now. <br /> Oakden stated the applicants are not required to have lake access, but if they choose to add stairs at some <br /> point in the future,they should be aware that they are getting close to the hardcover limit. <br /> Thiesse asked if they will be meeting the 30-foot height requirement. <br /> Koppandraye indicated they will be. <br /> Chair Thiesse opened the public hearing at 6:38 p.m. <br /> There were no public comments relating to this application. <br /> Chair Thiesse closed the public hearing at 6:38 p.m. <br /> Thiesse stated there is a definite practical difficulty given the steepness of the lot. <br /> Landgrver moved,Leskinen seconded,to recommend approval of Application No. 17-3966,LDK <br /> Builders on behalf of Linda and Darrell Tamosuinas, 1525 Long Lake Boulevard,granting of a rear <br /> yard setback variance,lot area and lot width variances.
