The wall was 11
caurses luh. Th observabl tiorth 3c %est walls appeared plumb and w7th out horizontal
cracking. Some vertical cracks vere notd, Uut no w-ater leakage was eti7dent. The exterior East
wall 8i a portion of the South wall were bevond the extznt of the basement. r1n interior masonry
wall vas present and an uneYcavated craw•1 space vas benveen the walls. No direct interior
obser-ation was possible.
The eterior of the basement walls were plastered and Yhibited similar small vertical cracl:s.
The basement walls in general appeared structurally sound.
.- review of the proosed second floor addition plans, prepared by DFP Planning & Design, sheets
1 thru 7, reti7sion dated 9-2-99, indicated new East to w'est clear span floor & roof trusses,
which could add up to 600 pounds per foot of additional load on the present eYterior East & West
wails. The total ial load applied to the w-all is well within the allowable loading for a short S"
masonrv wall.
Tne new se:;ond tloor truss layout appears to place a nzv rclr truss directly of esting in+ov.
This is not lil:elv the bi;st truss lavout the supplier ctiill lil:ety reti-ise the suested laout, but
check for a substsntial rim joist / header over the windows if this rder remains.
te appreciate th opportunitv to work with you. If vou have any structural concerns, or questions
on our wall review, plea to discuss them.
S' rely, /
  -- - -, _-----_._.
`
Gz- .L_. L
Uarr:.n D.
