Mike Gaffron
From: Peter W. Johnson [peterj@peterwjohnson.com]
Sent: Tuesday, October 01, 2013 3:14 PM
To: Mike Gaffron
Subject: 3165 North Shore Drive-tree preservation
Attachments: 20131001151233.pdf
Mike, Morrie would like to remove trees that are along the retain walls on the west and
south property boundaries, will be buried by the proposed fill, or that run along side the
existing driveway. The trees along the driveway are under an overhead power line and have
been trimmed so that they are bare on the north half, These trees
are poorly located and many would die if they were left in place.
Upon removal of these trees, Morrie plans to have the overhead wires buried.
There is also a small grove of tall pines in the center of the lot that have no growth for
the first forty feet or so above grade. They are scheduled for removal because they're ugly.
That would leave 14 mature trees in place. Does that meet the city
standard? On the attached drawing, trees to be removed are colored
blue. The trees that will remain are mostly on the area of greatest slope.
Peter W.
