Cut existing Boxelder trees(2-3 inch diameter trunks)at ground level. Roundup stumps. <br /> 2. Remove existing sod. Till and backfill to original grade. <br /> 3. Schedule for area dominated by perennial vegetation: <br /> a. Mid to late May: Mow to reduce height <br /> b. June/July: Roundup when vegetation reaches 10—12 inches and mow again <br /> c. August: Roundup any remaining growth and mow again <br /> d. Sept: Roundup any remaining growth and mow again <br /> e. Mid October: Till 4-5 inches and rake back to original grade <br /> f. Mid October: Seed the vegetation that can withstand winter <br /> g. Following late April: Seed the vegetation which will work best in Spring <br /> Seed Selection: <br /> 1. Seed mix will contain: <br /> a. 12 Ibs. per acre mixture of 4 species of native prairie grass. <br /> b. 5 Ibs. per acre mixture of 5 species of native wildflower seed <br /> Seeding method: <br /> 1. Broadcast seeding will be used with light raking after seed has been spread. <br /> 2. Lightly mulch with a variety of seeding mulch with tack to limit erosion and increase speed of <br /> germination. <br /> 3.
