� SECTION 16020 <br /> DEMOLTI'ION <br /> � <br /> 1.00 GENERAL <br /> � A. All demolirion work shall be scheduled with the Owner so as not to interfere with their <br /> operations. Questions pertaining to the actual work shall be directed to the Engineer. <br /> � B. This Contractor shall remove all plates, devices, fixtures, panels, smoke detectors, <br /> television and telephone outlets, etc. as shown on the electrical demolition drawings. <br /> All conduit and wire associated with the items listed above shall also be removed back <br /> � their origin. Insure all circuits are off prior to removing any electrical equipment. <br /> Where conduits are stubbed out of a column or slab and will not be reused, cut back to <br /> a point below the finished surface and patch to match existing. <br /> � C. Where devices are scheduled to be removed or relocated and are found to be in the <br /> middle of a circuit, the Contractor shall extend conduit and circuit conductors as <br /> necessary to provide power to all downstream device(s). <br /> , D. Daily clean all work areas to minimize dirt and dust in the facility. <br /> � E. Carefully handle all fixtures and devices being removed. Properly store items <br /> scheduled for reinstallation. If the Contractor fails to properly protect items scheduled <br /> for reuse, it shall be the Contractor's responsibility to furnish new items, equal to the <br /> ' existing at no cost to the Owner. <br /> F. This Contractor shall disconnect and remove all feeder conduit and cables for panels as <br /> shown on the drawings. All abandoned feeder cable shall be removed in their entirety <br /> � to the origin. All feeder conduit shall be shortened to the ceiling or floor and capped. <br /> Any power outages required for removal of feeder cable or conduit shall be scheduled <br /> with the Owner. <br /> � G. Help call, telephone, television, and fire alarm systems shall remain in full operating <br /> condition during the entire construction period. Should any portion of any system <br /> require relocation or demolition, this Contractor shall schedule the work with the <br /> � Owner and system representative 48 hours prior to performing the actual work. <br /> H. Any conduit or j-boxes located in an inaccessible spot upon completion of the <br /> � remodeling shall be relocated to provide future access and to meet the latest edition of <br /> the NEC. <br /> � I. The Engineer has performed a field survey to ascertain existing site conditions. This <br /> survey was visual only and no attempt was made to verify exact conduit routing above <br /> ceilings or in walls. The Contractor shall thoroughly review demolition and <br /> construction Drawings and Specifications and be fully aware of design intent. <br /> ' Additional work required due to deviations found after ceilings and walls are opened up <br /> shall be performed at no additional cost to the Owner. <br /> � END OF SECTION <br /> � <br /> � RMAS CBA701 8/1/97 <br /> 032497 16020 - 1 <br /> � <br />
