' <br /> Remove substances from concrete substrates that could impair bond of mortar, includin�curing , <br /> and sealing compounds, form oil, and laitance. <br /> �ISTALLATION,GENERAL . � <br /> Do not use unit�avers with chips, cracks,voids,discolorations, and other defects that might be <br /> visible or cause staining in finished work. <br /> Cut unit�avers with motor-driven masonry saw equipment to provide clean,sharp,unchipped � <br /> edges. Cut units to provide pattem indicated and to fit adjoining work neatly. Use fiill units <br /> without cutting where possible. Hammer cutting is not acceptable. � <br /> Joint Pattem: As indicated below: <br /> �v unit�avers in joint}�attem shown. ` <br /> Handri� t Joints: Where unit pavers are indicated without spaced joints,set unit pavers with <br /> hand-tight joints. � <br /> �paced Joint Widths: Where brick flooring is indicated with spaced joints 5lled with grout, <br /> comply with the following requirement: • , <br /> Provide nominal joint width of 3/8 inch with variations not exceeding plus or minus 1/16 <br /> inch. <br /> Tolerances: Do not exceed 1/16-inch unit-to-unit offset from flush(lippage) and a tolerance of 1/8 � <br /> inch in 2'-0" and 1/4 inch in 10'-0"from level or slope as indicated,for finished surface of paving. <br /> UNGROUTED MORTARLESS BRICK PAVER APPLICATIONS � <br /> Place aQQre�ate base and subbase in thiclrnesses indicated. Compact by tam}�ing with plate � <br /> vibrator and screed to depth required to allow for setting of brick pavers. <br /> Place sand levelin�bed where indicated.
