, <br /> 1 4.3 WORKMANSHIP <br /> 4.3.1 Well DischarQe Line and Related Valves <br /> , The well discharge line shall begin at die surface plate, then tee to provide both an alternate <br /> discharge line and supply discharge line as shown on Figure 1. The altemate discharge line shall <br /> ' be a stub line with a 2-ir�ch gate valve between the surface plate and the nipple end The supply <br /> discharge line st�all include a 2-inch gate valve,followed by an air and vacuum valve,followed <br /> by a check valve,and a 90 degree elbow to diract the discharge line below grade. A 1/2-inch <br /> ' hose bibb shatl be installed jast downstream of the check valve. All valves shall be enclosed in <br /> the protective box as descn'bed in Division 3 of these Spacificadons. <br /> I The discharge line shall proceod from the well to the waux tower riser pipe buried at least 24 <br /> inches below grade, slaping to the water tower to allow seasonal drainage. The discharge line <br /> shall be connectod to the eusting riser pipe of the water tower. <br /> , The Contractor shall locat�e the existing tower drain. If the drain pipe is in poor condidon as <br /> , determined by the Engineer,the Contcactor shall replace the drain pipe at the unit prices stated <br /> for 2-inch galvanized pipe and valves on the bid form. <br /> � 4.3.2 Booster Pnmv.Pressure Tank. Valves and Fittin¢s <br /> The booster pump and pressure tank shall be located in the maintenance building as indicated by <br /> , the Owner. Tl�e sucdon side of the booster pump shall be connected to the water tower riser pipe <br /> by a 4-inch DIP buried at least 3-feet below grade sloping toward the maintenance building. The <br /> boosta pump and pressure tank shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer's <br /> I recommendati�s. Tl�e bo�sta pump and all valves and 5ttings shall be secured to the concrete <br /> floa of the maintenance building, supported by adjustable pipe saddle supports. The saddle <br /> supports shall be as manufactured by Grinnell Company or approved e�ual and shall be secured <br /> ' into the floor with non-shrink gout <br /> Figure 1 shows a schematiic of the pamp and valve configuration. All above ground connections <br /> � shall be flangod.
