KENNEL LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br /> Dogs and dog kennels are regulated by Chapter 62, Subdivision Division 2, Sec. 62-181-�2-186 of the <br /> Municipal Code of Ordinances. <br /> It is unlawful for any person to own,operate,use,maintain or allow to exist any kennel on any <br /> property without a license from the city in accordance with this subdivision. <br /> It is unlawful for any person to own,harbor,keep or house three or more dogs,or five or more cats,over <br /> six months of age on any one lot or property without a valid residential or commercial kennel license. <br /> All dogs kept in residential kennels must also be individually licensed by the City. <br /> Kennel licenses will not be granted unless the property is fenced or contains a proper kennel structure to <br /> prevent the dogs from running at large. <br /> Kennel structures (dog houses and/or fenced runs) must be located at least 10 feet from any abutting <br /> property line and must otherwise comply with all accessory structure zoning requirements. Kennel structures <br /> located within 30 feet of any neighboring property must be licensed even if used for only 1 or 2 dogs. <br /> Kennel licenses expire on December 3 l st of each year. Annual renewal applications are due on or before <br /> December 1 st of each year. <br /> Kennel licenses may be denied or revoked for cause including unsanitary facilities,keeping more dogs or <br /> cats than the license authorizes,keeping unlicensed dogs,allowing dogs/cats to run at large or other nuisance <br /> complaints. <br /> DEFINITIONS <br /> KENNEL COMMERCIAL. A place or premises where three or more dogs or five or more cats over six <br /> months of age aze kept or housed at any one time for commercial purposes including sale,boarding,breeding, <br /> grooming,training,or medical caze. <br /> KENNEL RESIDENTIAL. An accessory residential use or place where three or more dogs or five or <br /> more cats over six months of age are kept or housed for the sole noncommercial use,benefit or enjoyment of <br /> the properly owner or occupant. <br />
