Stat. § 347.08 et seq. <br /> Sec. 62-131. - Required. <br /> It is unlawful for the owner of any dog six months of age or more to fail to obtain a license from <br /> the city except as follows: <br /> (1) Dogs confined to a city-licensed commercial kennel need not be individually licensed. <br /> (2) Dogs confined to a city-licensed residential kennel shall be individually licensed but need not <br /> wear the license tag while they are confined in the kennel. <br /> (3) Dogs currently licensed by another jurisdiction may be temporarily kept in the city for a <br /> period not to exceed 30 days, provided the dog wears a tag or other identification from such <br /> licensing jurisdiction, and provided the current city license is obtained if the temporary stay <br /> extends beyond 30 days or otherwise becomes permanent. Dogs licensed by other <br /> jurisdictions are not exempt from the kennel licensing requirements or from any other <br /> provision of this article. <br /> (Ord. No. 137 2nd series, § 9.12(3), 7-24-1995) <br /> Sec. 62-132. -Application. <br /> All licenses shall be issued by the city; and applications shall be accompanied by a certificate <br /> issued by a veterinarian licensed to practice in the state, showing that the dog is vaccinated against <br /> rabies for the duration of the applied-for license. Should the rabies vaccination expire prior to the full <br /> term of the license,the owner is responsible for updating such vaccination. No more than two dog <br /> licenses shall be issued to any one person or for any one lot, properry or address at any one time <br /> unless there shall first have been issued a current residential or commercial kennel license for such <br /> person, lot property or address. <br /> (Ord. No. 137 2nd series, § 9.12(4), 7-24-1995) <br /> Sec. 62-133. - Fees. <br /> All licenses and impounding fees provided for in this division shall be issued only upon payment in <br /> full of the fee established by resolution. License fees shall be due for the full two-year license period, <br /> except that licenses issued in even-numbered years may be prorated to half of the two-year license <br /> fee.
