���p CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> ��, � rro. 6 7 9 g <br /> G <br /> lqkESHO�� <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION FOR A HENNEPIN COUNTY <br /> YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM GRANT <br /> WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners, via the Hennepin Youth Sports <br /> Program, provides for capital funds to assist local government units of Hennepin County for the <br /> development of sports or recreational facilities, and <br /> WHEREAS, City of Orono desires to develop an improved multi-sport court in Navarre Park for <br /> the purposes of providing additional recreational opportunities in the Navarre community. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Orono City Council: <br /> I. The estimate of the total cost of developing the multi-court facility shall be $47,245. <br /> The Orono City Council is requesting$ 23,622 from the Hennepin Youth Sports Program and <br /> will assume responsibility for providing matching funds of$ 23,623. <br /> II. City of Orono is the owner of Navarre Park where the multi-sport court is located and <br /> shall continue to own the property for at least the functional life of the multi-sport court, which is <br /> estimated to be 20 years. Navarre Park may not be converted to a non-public or non-recreational <br /> uses within this time period without the approval of Hennepin County. <br /> III. City of Orono agrees to assume one hundred (100) percent of operational and <br /> maintenance costs for the multi-sport court. City of Orono will operate the multi-sport court for <br /> its intended purpose as stated in the grant application for the functional life of the facility. <br /> IV. City of Orono agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with Hennepin <br /> County for the specific purpose of developing project and managing its long-term operation. <br /> V. That the Director of Public Works for the City of Orono is authorized and directed to <br /> execute the application for the Hennepin Youth Sports Program grant. <br /> Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota, at a regular meeting held Oct 9, <br /> 2017. <br /> < <br />
